To convert to DjVu format you can use LizardTech DjVu Virtual Printer — a free plug-in which converts to DjVu any files.

All you need it to download the plug-in and install it. After finishing installation and rebooting your computer you can easily convert to DjVu.

III Convert images to Djvu using LizardTech DjVu Virtual Printer

1. Open your image, which you want to convert it may be a photo or any other image . From within your viewer, click the 'print' button.

2. The dialog box appears, click 'next', then you can choose one or some images, you want convert to DjVu. Click 'next'.

3. Select the printer’s name, then select the LizardTech Virtual Printer. Click 'next'.

If you have horizontal images before clicking 'Next' you should select 'Preferences', then 'Landscape'.

4. In new boxes click 'next', then click 'ready'. A message 'printing completed successfully' appears. Click 'ready' after that a Virtual Driver window appears. You can select resolution, other options you need, an output directory and name of the generated DjVu file.

5. Click Encode button. You can see how encoding is progressing.

IV Convert JPG or any other image to DjVu using DjVu Solo 3.1 (does not encode other formats)

You can also use DjVu Solo to convert to DjVu

1. Install and launch the program. Select 'File', then select 'Open' choose the first image for your future DjVu document.

2. Select 'Edit', - 'Insert pages after'.

3. A dialog box appears. You can choose as many images as you like or all which are going to be in your DjVu document. If you can’t see your images in the folder, select 'all supported image types'.

If you are going to create a book or a document with hundreds of pages, add them consequently (in 50s), not all at one time, adding a lot of images may take some time.

4. On the left side you can see all the pages preview. Before encoding check there that all the pages are in right order. It may occur that some pages can change places. Then drag and drop them to right place.

5. Select 'File', then 'Encode as DjVu'.

6. A box appears and asks you whether you prefer these images as one file - bundled or indirect – many files. Choose your option.

After that choose the folder to save the generated file and the name. Select resolution and type of the file the images’ origin is (scanned or photos ). Click 'OK' button. You see encoding in progress. My book of 30 color pages was ready in about one minute. And was only 1.97 Mb.
